Dr Omar Patel

Omar is a friendly and experienced Specialist Periodontist who has been helping patients improve their gum health and smiles for over 20 years.

He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2003, where he received the prize for Conservative Dentistry. Just a few years later, he became a practice owner and trainer, mentoring newly qualified dentists as they started their careers.

Omar went on to achieve several professional qualifications, including memberships with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He also completed advanced training in restorative dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute before specialising in periodontics at King’s College London, where he gained a Master’s degree in Clinical Periodontology.

He previously worked at a consultant level at Guy’s Hospital in London and provides the full range of periodontal care – from non-surgical and surgical gum treatment to crown lengthening, gum grafting, and dental implants. He has a particular interest in the link between gum disease and diabetes, and his research in this field has been recognised internationally.

Omar also enjoys helping the next generation of dentists succeed and serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Outside of work, you’ll often find Omar playing golf or tennis, hiking in the hills, or training for long-distance runs. A self-confessed tech enthusiast, he also holds a degree in computing and loves exploring the latest innovations in dental technology.
