Kate is our resident oral surgery expert. Her expertise lies in extractions and dental implants. If a tooth can't be saved, or if you need wisdom teeth removed or orthodontic extractions, you'll find yourself in Kate's good hands.
She and her nurse Sarah (who also hails from Ireland) are committed to providing the best possible treatment for their patients.
Career history
Following her primary dental degree Kate worked in Edinburgh before taking up the position as a Senior House Officer in Guy’s Hospital, London. Kate worked in specialist departments including Special Care Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry before deciding that her main interest was in Oral Surgery. She continued to work as a Specialty dentist in the Oral Surgery department on a part-time basis for many years.
Qualifications and Training
Kate qualified with a Distinction in her final year from the University of Dundee. She later became a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. In 2019 she was awarded a Master’s degree in Implantology (MSc) from the University of Bristol.
Kate is a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI). She is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons England.
Interests
Kate brings real energy and good humour to the practice with her outgoing personality. She has a variety of interests in the arts with a degree in History of Art from Trinity College Dublin. She is also a tennis buff and an aspiring golfer. She is a committed world traveller – fluent in both Spanish and French.
