Dr Charlie Barnfield

Charlie graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from King’s College London in 2013. Following foundation training in the West Midlands, he undertook a Senior House Officer role in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Gloucester and Cheltenham Hospitals. He subsequently worked in general dental practice in Sussex, during which time he achieved Membership of the Joint Dental Faculty (MJDF) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Developing a strong interest in restorative dentistry, Charlie completed a postgraduate certificate in Endodontics. The following year, in 2016, he secured a place on the highly competitive four-year MClinDent specialist training programme in Endodontics at the internationally renowned Eastman Dental Hospital, with affiliated National Training Number.

Since 2017, Charlie has limited his clinical practice exclusively to Endodontics. He accepts referrals for complex root canal treatments and retreatments, endodontic surgery, the diagnosis of dental pain, trauma management, and internal bleaching procedures.

Charlie passed the Membership in Endodontics specialty exams from both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh; prestigious qualifications representing the highest level of achievement in the specialty.

Alongside his clinical work in private practice, Charlie has contributed to postgraduate education, teaching on the Diploma in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute. He is an active committee member of the Langham Endodontic Study Group and a member of the British Endodontic Society. He regularly delivers lectures and study sessions for dental professionals, focusing on the latest advancements in Endodontics.

Charlie is known for his calm and reassuring manner, taking the time to thoroughly discuss all treatment options to ensure patients feel informed and at ease. He is committed to delivering precise, high-quality care and achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients.

Outside of dentistry, Charlie enjoys playing golf, exploring his interest in wine through tastings, experimenting with cooking, and attending theatre productions and museum exhibitions
