It's a Major Problem

According to the British Lung Foundation, 1.5 million adults are estimated to suffer from Sleep Apnoea but up to 85% are undiagnosed.

This can lead to unwanted chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

How can an orthodontist help?

Our specialist orthodontist, Joyti, is able to assess your facial profile and jaw position to determine if you're at risk of sleep apnoea and/or snoring.

She will undertake an full assessment and refer you to our friendly sleep doctor, who is trained in respiratory medicine.

MAD about sleep

Following an at home sleep study, we will assess your suitability for an intraoral appliance known as a Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD).

This works by increasing the size of your airway while you sleep, which allows for a better flow of oxygen to the lungs. This ensures healthier airways and a better night's sleep.
